I twirled the wedding band around in my hand, running my fingers over the smooth, silver metal. The ring had once belonged to my father and hopefully, someday it would belong to my mate.
Matt.
My body heated at the thought of my mate, as it often did. I’d known for almost a decade now that Matt was my mate. Matt remained oblivious. My fist clenched instinctively. I couldn’t help but feel angry at Fate for showing me my mate before he was ready. I often wondered if he would ever be ready. Usually, it was a magical moment full of marvel and enlightenment. Eyes met, fireworks burst, and nature took its course. A mate bond was established, and the couple lived happily ever after. I’d never heard an Alpha recognizing his mate before their Omega.
Well, I’d heard of one instance. But those two were blissfully happily mated now. I wanted that for myself and Matt. In the last year, as I watched my brother settle down with his mate, I started to realize how lonely I was and how much I needed Matt at my side.
My Writing Plans/Goals
Now that I’m in the full swing of writing and publishing again, I just can’t stop!
I have a 5 novella Dragon mpreg series in the works (by “in the works”, I mean it’s completely in my head at this point)

Breaking into a New Genre
Since I’ve been on a small hiatus from writing, I’ve discovered a new love for all things mPreg.
So, naturally, I was attacked by an inordinate amount of mpreg plot bunnies. This summer I will have 4 mpreg novellas and at least 1 (hopefully more) mpreg short to release.
This first novella, Up To Code, will be available on June 5th.
The short story, Alpha Student, will be available on June 12th.
The next novella, Down to Earth (sequel to Up to Code), will be available in July.

That’s the best way to describe Jackie Nacht’s stories. I was introduced to M/M Romance through my sister, Stephani, and read it for years. Then, I thought it was time to put my own stories on paper. I began writing short and sweet stories that ended with a happily ever after…and sometimes more than one, in the case of my YA Fork in the Road series, which has interactive endings.
Thinking back to my own book addiction, where there were many nights I stayed up way too late so I could read just one more chapter—yeah, right—I decided to write short romances for young adults as well as adults. Excerpt:
Ten minutes until kickoff and it was like every person in the student body had showed up. Adrian was squished next to Mark and a girl wearing glitter tattoos on her cheeks. She and her friend were taking selfies, and somehow, Adrian got tugged into one.
“What’s your name?” the girl hollered.
He leaned in, yelling, “Adrian.”
“Mara.” She smiled over at him.
“Mara!” a guy called from behind them, then he landed on Adrian’s back.
“Careful, Davis!” Mara yelled.
Bending over from the weight of the guy, Adrian would have face-planted into the person in front of him if it hadn’t been for Mark grabbing his shirt. The fucking game hadn’t started, and he was about to be on the injury list. And Adrian wasn’t even playing in the game!
“Whoa, whoa, whoa.” The guy on his back grabbed him and wrapped an arm around Adrian’s chest.
The person in front of him turned with a scowl on his face before he smirked at the man behind him and raised his hand. “Davis!”
Hands clapped over his head, and the damn bull in the china shop behind him still had his arm around Adrian.
The two chatted above him, and Adrian glanced over at Mark who was rolling his eyes. “That’s Davis.”
Oh yeah, because that explained everything. It’s Davis so it’s natural to start chatting it up with Adrian snuggled right in. Boundaries, people, boundaries. Apparently, tackle-boy Davis seemed to know everyone since people all around shouted his name. Adrian felt Davis’s deep chuckle and wondered why the hell he was still being held by him.
Adrian turned and glanced over his shoulder, then kind of wished he hadn’t. Davis was laughing while talking to the guy Adrian almost fell into before. Davis was hot… like hotter than Atlanta. Black hair and a five o’clock shadow around a strong jaw. Built enough to belong on the football field and damn, and he had light ice-blue eyes. Adrian had an urge to reach out and touch Davis’s face to make sure he was fucking real. The only thing that detracted from the model-perfect looks was a small scar on his bottom lip, which Adrian thought was sexy as hell. The white line bisected plump full lips, which made Adrian want to kiss it. And he shouldn’t be thinking that.
With a small twist of his arm, Adrian was free of Davis. He glanced back at him.
“Don’t trample the newb, Davis,” Luke hollered from down the row.
Davis’s blue eyes glinted in the noonday sun, and a crooked smile appeared on his face. Adrian felt like prey in the presence of a predator, trapped by a sea of fifty-five thousand people.

The morning glow ended once the skies lightened up, and the pilots prepared for the mass ascension. He moved back to the outer edges of the field to get a better view and to reduce the noise levels on his sound bites. Well that’s what he said when people asked, but really, he needed to get out of the crowds before they started staring again. It was easier in the daylight to deal with people one on one instead of in the big crowds. Invariably, someone’s kid would pipe up and say something about the large scars running down his neck.
He walked through one of the crew parking areas, looking for participants to interview, when a blue Chevy truck with California plates pulled into a parking site. Great time to get an out-of-stater’s perspective on the Fiesta. It would make his family happy that he was willing to talk to strangers again, even though the acid in his stomach rose.
Alex hesitated when the tall, muscular man got out of the truck and walked to the back to pull out some camp chairs. The early morning light bounced off the guy’s sun-bleached brown hair as he set them up along with a small camp table. Alex took in the view of the well-fitting jeans hugging the perfect ass. Mr. California stood over six feet tall and looked like he worked out regularly. Alex could only hope that he wasn’t some homophobic jerk.
A chuckle escaped him when the man’s attention was drawn to his reflection in the tinted truck window. He ran a hand through his short curly hair, then reached into the truck for a ball cap to pull over his head. Then he grabbed a thermos and a travel mug.
Alex struggled to calm the rising panic racing through him as he prepared to approach. He’d dreamed of being a TV news anchor, but after his accident, he’d given up that dream to work for his family’s radio station. He was used to interviewing all sorts of people, famous or not, for the radio station. He loved meeting new people, but this gorgeous man before him was throwing him off his game. At least with the people who came into the radio station, he felt safe and didn’t need to worry about how they would react to his scars.
Alex waited until the man sat down and began to enjoy the show, before approaching from behind. Controlling the situation so that he wouldn’t have to expose his scars was the only way he could handle talking to the stranger. His insides burned and his breakfast threatened to come back up, but he needed this. He needed to get back into the game so he could continue his career as a broadcaster.
